I switched from veloce to Rival in May of last year.

I used veloce for 2.5 years of racing and then the right shifter wore out. The internals are different from the record shifters, and that's all the local shops had in stock. It happened the week before my "A" race so I chose to upgrade to 2009 rival. I left the campy cranks on because there was nothing wrong with them. Now the crankset is 3 years old and it's time for either an overhaul or a new crankset (I'm choosing a new crankset).

Both groups work really well. I really like the campy brakes, although they are quite heavy. I can't say that either one performs better than the other. I'd probably go with whatever is cheaper.
