well, considering you can die instantly or be dragged to pieces leaving body parts along the pavement by a tractor trailer I would say bicycling is quite dangerous. that said, I rode over 2,000 miles last year from Feb - August
if you drive, you can be involved in a fiery multiple car pileup where you're crushed beneath the wheels of that semi that's been following too close for the last 10 miles. Given that, I'd say that bicycling is no more dangerous than driving.
