I also have a 250W and bougt the RAM mount for it on ebay.com (there was no mount for the wide version from Garmin at the time).
I've used it several times and it works very good. Doesn't come loose
If it rains... you're f*cked I guess... Always be sure to carry a plastic bag with you when you expect rain.
