"Normal" fixed cup is reverse thread. Italian and French are the two main exceptions, but a Japanese built Schwinn will be reverse thread on the drive side.

Note, if you work carefully, there really is no reason to pull the fixed cup. I stopped removing them on almost all rehabs. Often they are pretty tough to get out, and as long as the cup is OK, there is no need to pull it anyway.
