It's the

Pull the plastic plugs out of the ends of the carbon tube, cut down carefully to
just short of the width you need, reinsert the plugs, mount.
I can lift the bike by it. Looks clean, looks good, for a mount. And, I think it's exactly what you're getting at. You could just get the normal Dashboard Genie too...but I wanted the heavy flashlight to not budge PERIOD (I hate when the light vibrates at night). I like the symmetry of the two arms too, but that's just me.
The 64 dollar question is, will it fit inside the mount for your aerobars? You
can snug the arms right up to the stem, they're 10mm thick.
