Sounds like you may be missing a spacer or something. More grease is not what you need... Not too familier with that crankset but tightening the crankbolts should never pull the arm into the cups.
Hmm, I think this might be the case. I followed the instructions on the manual though and added the necessary spacers that are included with the crankset. My bottom bracket width is 68mm.
