The "point" that there may be surprisinglyhigh costs for smashing into expensive to repair cars has been clear from the beginning, except perhaps for clueless characters who believe posting an ad hominem response adds credibility to their seat of the pants pseudo-legal advice and/or wishful thinking about getting over with lowballing the owner about inexpensive car repairs.
