I am a regular to that route and am sick to my stomach hearing this news. I am glad I was not out today on the ride as I would seriously reconsider ever riding down here again. This city teems with arrogant, selfish, and out right indignant *******s as exemplified by the poster seekgoodbegood. It's not just limited to this event. This city has seen citizens shoot one another for plywood during hurricane season and more frequently petty incidents of road rage.

I have often considered areas east of US1 to be "safe" for cyclists due to the familiarity motorists would have to have due to the number of us on the road. Today's events has me reconsidering that position.

My heart goes out to the family and will keep this event in the forefront of my mind whenever I head out. I pray for our collective safety because life is too fragile.
