Comparing open pros to cxp33's keep in mind that the open pros have eyelets around the spoke nipples preventing the nipple from pulling though and breaking the rim. I never had cxp33's so I don't know if it happens to them.
It doesn't.

The reason why open pros need eyelets is BECAUSE it's box section. Almost No 28mm+ aero section rims have eyelets. That's why. What constitutes a quality box section rim doesn't necessarily apply to aero section rims.
