If you buy new Campy shifters they will come with cables. The only potential problem might be in using the new ultrashift levers with the Shimano RD. As long as the RD has enough spring tension to pull the cable down to smaller cogs, there will be no problem, but the new shifters don't properly if the RD has inadequate spring tension. A few people mixed the 2009 shifters with with Centaur or Veloce RDs from '07-'08 and found that the spring in paralleogram was not strong enough. The result is poor shifting to smaller cogs. The 2009+ ultrashift levers are more sensitive to cable friction and require the new Campy ultra low friction housing or another brand of 4mm housing with low friction. I've had good luck so far with Shimano housing and Campy cables.
