I have a Cannondale 1993 R500 with RX100 components Back then there frames were 3.0 and the 2.8. mine is the 3.0, this frame is very stiff and light weight but not as light weight as the 2.8, This was my everyday ride untill 2009 when I bought a new bike.

RX100 components where good for lower level stuff, As for upgrades the only one I would consider is to get brifters but this will be expensive and is why I bought a new bike. This bike will serve you well without this upgrade.
