Great commute this morning, clear and relatively warm (about 40 F), with a really nice sunrise. I got a new wheelset for my commuter-touring bike for my birthday, and today was the maiden voyage. The wheels are Velocity Dyads laced to Ultegra hubs, 36 hole, with DT butted spokes and Conti GP 4 Season 700 x 28 tires on them. I was a little concerned that wheels might feel a lot stiffer and less comfortable, but my bike actually rode smoother, probably due to the 28 tires. The wheels are slightly heavier than the Ultegra/Mavic Open Pros (32H) that I had been using, but didn't feel like it. I was starting to feel nervous about the Open Pros since my commuter bike is much heavier than my other bikes, plus I would like to do some loaded touring down the road.
