I am definitely a fan of Kool Stop pads and have put a couple sets on my touring bike, which is a Giant FCR using Linear Pull VBrakes. Are these really the best pads for road usage? I am looking into upgrading the pads on my Specialized Allez which has Dual Pivot Caliper Brakes. I believe they are specialized brand with replaceable cartridges for brakes. Are these universal or do I have to/Should I just go through my Specialized dealer and be done with it?

You can use the Kool Stop pads that are made for "Shimano Dura Ace" (I think that's what the packaging says). I use the Salmon colored pads on my 2008 Allez triple.
