The devil would be in the details. It really depends on how much of the climbing is bunched together, and where it is on the course. I once did a century that only had 4,000' of climbing. By mile 60, I had yet to do any climbing at all. ALL the major climbing was in the last 40 miles, spread over two significantly steep (but relatively short) climbs. Made for a tiring day.
That being said - this sounds interesting. What major airport (read Southwest Airlines) is closest?
There's a scheduled small commuter plane from Grand Junction to Moab.
I've done the ride. By mile 35 or so you're finished going up. Most of it comes from mile 25-35. Many riders bonk on this part. Especially if they get carried away in a fast paceline and hammer out the first easy 20 some miles, and then neglect to refuel adequately for the wicked steep climb.
