I had my hip replaced when I was 32. Had a revision 14 years later. I could hardly walk after a ride, but the riding part didn't really bother me. My hip is cobalt-chrome, not titanium. After the first surgery I wondered why I waited so long. Skied, as a volunteer Ski Patroller, until the revision. Now I live in Arizona and can bicycle all year. I've done Seattle to Portland 3 times (after the revision). I'm planning on doing in in one day, probably next year. Just keep at it and you'll be fine. Don't overdo it, but push yourself a little. And definitely take advantage of physical therapy if the doctor orders it (I never had any). Good luck to you.
