I am sorry to hear of you trouble, I guess I have been lucky in not crashing. I have had issues with a I. T. band on the right knee, but so far it's been ok since. I am in Arizona so the weather is quite different with regard to humidity anyway. We have kids and grand kids there, and when we visit them I can sure tell the difference. Good luck and get well soon.
