We could merge them an impliment a simple little thing that would make the WTS and WTB stick out. Add two images, one that says For Sale, one that says WTB. Add these images to the list that thread startes can choose from to add in front of the thread title.
This will allow you to combine the two threads and increase views.
Since the majority of threads are for selling items we could assume with no tag an item is being sold, otherwise place WTB or ISO in front of your post to let users know you're looking for a particular item/bundle of items.
