I'm from Las Vegas, NV where the roads are wide through most of the city, have large shoulders and/or bike lanes.
I just moved to the Dallas, TX area, more specifically, Garland. I've been here four days and the weather's been beautiful. I'd love to go for a ride, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but these roads are scary in my car, let alone on my bike. The lanes are narrow, everyone drives FAST and there are no shoulders.
I tried a local bike shop and they weren't real helpful or even very nice when I tried to ask about places to go.
Where can a girl go around here to find some nice 15-50 mile rides without much traffic (or shoulders on the roads)?
Would an occasional hill be too much to ask?
