ct: The stiffest I've found are the Asics Revolve LE (the LE version has a different sole than the Revolve version). The soles are board-like, much, much stiffer than Sambas. And, the toe box is narrow enough to slide easily into clips, yet still be wide enough for my wide feet. On the downside, the soles are a bit slick as they don't have any tread (they appear to be mat shoes). And, they've been discontinued.

So, my search for the next good riding sneaker continues.
