Is it even possible to get a straight answer to the simple question "Do bike helmets help prevent injury?"

Here's how this debate has gone from my perspective:

"I think bike helmets help prevent injuries. Here's a bunch of scientific research to back that statement up."

"YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!!!"

I guess it's kinda like bringing a globe to a Flat Earther convention.
