75ml size Vittoria Pit Stop, a hard fit on C&V bikes??
So, I went ahead and bought a Vittoria Pit Stop tire repair kit for my second bike with tubulars.
Thing was, I didn't bother to check if the bottle with the clip will fit as intended behind my seat, attached to the seatpost. Now I have I thought I have quite a bit of seatpost showing on my bike, but I was surprised that I still couldn't clip the thing on my bike because the bottle is too long and hits the top clamp of the seat post and the chainstays befor the clip can reach the seatpost. Couldn't figure out what the deal is, till I took another look at the pictures on the packaging. and I noteiced that the silhouette of the bike pictured has a back sloping top tube with mondo amount of seatpost showing because of it.
Did anyone encounter this same problem with the Pit Stop?
I think I'll end up putting the bottle and clamp on the top tube instead, hanging down, directly below the nose of the saddle. Only thing that worries me is the botttle does not seem to be gripped that hard by the provided plastic clamp. The bottle holder seems to be so weak that I wouldn't be suprised if a many of these Pit stop bottles were lost on the roads by riders when they hit bumps.
So, just a heads up, check if you have enough space behind your seatpost before deciding to ge the 75ml size Pit Stop kit for your bike. I think I saw a smaller 2 (shorter) bottled version that might work better. Check those out first before getting the bigger 75ml one.
