I would be VERY interested in seeing it, I love going ultra light

look thru the thread
i don't use packing lists
someone once told me
there are people who make packing lists for camping then there are people who go camping
i've gone round and round with this stuff
from using a Big Dummy with a 4 man tipi with wood burning stove, laptop, etc...
to the hunter with a tin can alcohol stove, sleeping on a plastic trash bag.
there are two packing methods
1. pick the gear and find the bags to put it into
2. pick the bags and find the gear to into them
obviously with The Hunter in Ultra Light mode, I chose bags then gear
so I used a Kifaru Para Tarp for shelter
a Kifaru Woobie for sleeping/warmth
1 set of cycling clothing
1 pair of slick rock pants
1 pair of crocs <---- yes crocs! they totally rock, super light, and when you strap them to the seat bag, they become saddle bags, further allowing me to stuff them with things like a can of boost.
i used an alcohol stove that weighs something like 53g
i ate angel hair pasta, quinoa
and shopped in the afternoon at the last grocery store before camp, typically 2 cans of tuna with either pasta or quinoa
and i carried 1 small container of parmesan cheese
my biggest section of weight came from electronics
Canon A510 digi cam
iPod
Solio solar charger
2 AA's for camera
2 AA's for back up (rechargeable)
1 fast charger for the AA's which i'd plug into any electrical outlet, i.e. bathrooms
1 Cateye Uno head light
1 Petzel headlamp
1 Snow Peak mini solo cookset
1 Snow Peak 3pc cookset with a pot, a large cup, and a fry pan
my hygiene kit was extremely minimized
1/2 toothbrush
1 small trial size tooth paste
1 small roll of floss (remove from plastic case)
1 small container of contact lens solution
3 extra sets of contacts
1 contact lens container
1 small tube of Bacitracin
1 small bottle of gold bond antifungal powder
1 small swiss army knife (the smallest they make)
a few unit dose tabs of ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and diphenhydramine
chap stick
sunscreen, Neutrogena ultra sheer
http://www.walgreens.com/store/catal...sku=sku3790466
1 p38 can opener
1 small bic lighter
matches
heet
alcohol stove
thermarest, the smallest, thinest they make
some kelty camp twine for a clothes line, and to also utilize if i want to pitch the shelter in a different method
thats the basic outline
oh... some iodine tabs
the thing with touring down the coast is that there is a ton of resources along the way.
honestly
source from the environment
there is no need to carry a ton of stuff
cuz its in every freaking town
I'm addicted to soda can stoves, simply in that, once you learn how to make one, you simply make a stove, pour in HEET, light and do your cooking.
in the morning throw the stove away.
on this trip, i actually had a swank little stove, that i carried the whole way, only because i thought it was so nice, swank and all that other garb.
the thing is that, the more you know, the less you need to carry.
good weather conditions help too.
August was amazingly perfect.
