I've got a large family and am pretty frugal. I buy what's on sale but this past year scored three pairs of used riding shorts in nice shape - Performance, Specialized and an old team pair from Seattle for a total of $11. Bought a used Pearl Izumi lightweight jacket for $5 - who cares if it has grease stains. I need functional and am well past caring how I look.
Shorts - Usually Performance or Nashbar
Jerseys - I have some Performance basic solid color, a Trek I bought on clearance, 80's Renault/Gitane and PDM jerseys
Gloves - Whatever I find on sale
Sunglasses - Bolle - 8 yrs old
Shoes - 12 yo Performance brand and clearance Vittoria from last year - the Vittoria are for my old Sampson Stratics pedals and the Performance handles the Look Delta's
Socks - nothing special - Costco brand "footies"
Tights - medium weight Nashbar brand
Jacket - Hand-me-down
