I uh, just wouldn't mention your bike there. If you think the people in commuting are giving you a hard time about Wal-mart bikes, roadies.. Roadies sometimes find reason to give people a hard time about just about anything.
I'm kind of mystified about why anybody would have the slightest interest in where somebody else acquired their bike. Reminds me of when I was a kid--one year my mother bought my gym shoes for PE from Montgomery Ward, and the sole pattern was a straight grid--looked like graph paper. So when we were suited up and out on the field where the grass was rubbed off and you could see the sole impressions in the ground--some of the other kids laughed at mine! Go figure.
But I know you're correct, so I'll fly in stealth mode when I'm in elitist-land!
