I think the Canon S90is is a better alternative. Almost twice the pixel density which means better low light, higher ISO ability. Plus a f/2.0 lens, wide range zoom and still compact. Cost is about $400 street....not sure where the other Canon is but this one even beats the G11 (same sensor and software) I was looking at. Might want to take a look.
