I carry a half-body Canon digital SLR when I tour. My upcoming spring trip though, I'm contemplating going down to a Digital Rebel or a G11. Rebel would be smaller and lighter than my current, without sacrificing all my image quality. G11 would be much smaller and lighter, and allow for video (but you lose the speed and image quality of a DSLR).

If it's in your price range, and you want a "smaller" camera, check out the G10/11/etc. They're stellar.
