As an aside, I worked with a fellow that got pinched for wire fraud. He got some pretty big time - the DOJ took that **** very, very seriously (at least, in his case).
It was several years ago. The seller was a lawyer. Was. Yes, the DOJ takes a dim view of wire fraud. IIRC, each count carried a maximum 5 year/$250,000 fine.
