Haven't been to the gym this winter but before I did the spinning class I used to do a gentle warm up in the weights room. One night I had a couple of Muscular 20 year olds follow me from machine to machine and they were making a point of adding a great deal of weight to all the machines that I had just used. Till it got to the calf machine. This is one machine where I use maximum weight. First lad got on and found he couldn't raise the weight as it was on Max. he had to take half the weight off. Then his mate called him a wimp and got on the machine. He only managed to put on an extra 20lbs. So I got on again- put it on max weight and only did 10 repetitions- but on each leg singularly.
I did pay for it though- The spinning class killed me that night.
