I know you said "order a couple" but you may also want to check at your LBS. All of my favorite LBSs in Chicago sell used stuff and something like a pair of dustcaps might only set you back a buck or two if you are lucky. I got some very cool old used Sugino dust caps for my cranks recently at my fav LBS. They didn't want to charge me anything!

Of course, that does not solve your snowed in problem... but you could at least call around.
