Before anyone can really help you we need to know which island or islands you are planning on visiting. I live on the Big Island. Not that many roads but easy to do 100 miles or more to get somewhere. You can ''try'' and climb Mauna Kea if you're so inclined. You'll need a MT bike for that though. I don't think it's paved al thw way, but I haven't beem up there in years so it may be paved but even still you'd need a triple at the least.
