Know anything about my criterium bike?

Ok..
So I ended up with an old road bike that my father bought, apparently in the wanted ads, in 1970 when he was living in Berkeley CA.

About the bike:
-On the downtube it has the lettering PARAGON
-The painted head badge depicts some sort of hawk gripping a bicycle wheel with PARAGON in a banner above
- The decals on the seat tube are, Criterium racing and Gruppo Campagnolo, and Made In the USA
- Steel frame with tight geometry

Components-
Campagnolo Gran Sport rear derailleur
Simplex front derailleur
Campagnolo chain ring and cranks
Weinmann center pole brakes
Ambrosio Champion adjustable stem and headset (skinny dropped handlebars)
Campagnolo hubs, that only have Campagnolo engraved lettering (no Record, so early 60s?)
Zeus pedals

...anyways I can't find anything about the maker of this bike. Ofcourse I have come to love it and cycling in general, I just figured this might be a place where someone would know more.
Criterium racing in Berkeley, or the bay area, during the 60's perhaps?

Thanks!
