11-23. I do have a compact crank, but we do have hills. Even then, I need to install the 11-26 so that I do not cross chain so much, but the cassettes are still good.. I have done 50 into 23 some because it is more convenient but if I had a 26 it would not be so far out. Before I got into 10 speed in 2008, I was riding 12-23 Campy 8 with a 53 X 39 since 1998, Before that was 6 speed Nouvo record.. I just got used to it. I did buy a 13 X 26 clsuter for the Campy but never really used it.
