Donaldson Center Feb. 2009. First race of the season. Last lap, steady in the top 10 of the Cat3 field. Downhill section doing over 30mph. Someone shoots a gap in front of me and clips my front wheel. I hit the deck and then 4 other bikes run over me. When I get up it looks like half the field is on the ground. Went to the ER pumped full of some pain meds because they thought I broke some ribs and punctured a lung. Turns out just very bad bruising.
