In addition. The left side crankarm has a small 'washer' coated with blue plastic. You can easily lose that upon disassembly. This will make it next to impossible to adjust the crank properly. It is *imperative* that is reassembled with the crank.

The first thing i'd do if I was the OP is to take the crankset and the bb out, and make sure to reinstall with grease everywhere as needed.

1) Shell threads
2) BB threads, centersleeve where it contacts the two cups - and o-ring
3) Thin layer of grease on the crank spindle, the splined interface and the threads where the preload bolt would go
