Weird ratios for a big gap. 11.12.13.15.17.19.22.25.28.32 seems a bit more logical to me. If it's targeted for newer riders I can see where having more in the middle of the cassette makes sense from a let's win over a new rider standpoint.
I have compacts on two bikes, a 52/38 on another and my double century killing machine has a 53/42/30 triple. For me it's the 42t ring that is the key, not the granny. The 30t is about the same as a 34t one cog down and you get one more lower gear. The 42t is for all the rollers where I live in the Bay Area where one would be changing from 50 to 34 and back again constantly. I stocked up on a couple 2006 Campy Record Triples when they were on sale on ebay.
