OK I have the dreaded V-brake howls when the calipers squeeze on the rim. I've cleaned the rim with degreaser and even sand-papered the brake calipers. But they still howl. The only +ve out of this is that other cyclists/pedestrians or small critters will hear me barrelling down at them while trying to slow down. Arrhh!

This is for my rear brakes btw. The fronts are discs which is oh so nice!
