Ok, so cantilever brakes do NOT suck.....I sucked.

I am completely turned around on my previous thread, where I cursed cantilevers and swore an oath to destroy them on sight. Basically, I run narrow rims on my surly and needed to move those pads inward to the rims more, and also I replaced the link wires with old-school yokes....which maybe didn't really do much, but I like them better I think. I just didn't know what I was doing and got frustrated too easily.

Excellent stopping power! I can't tell the difference now between these and my v-brakes.

Plus, I get to use my drop bars (which I love) and can actually use the tektro oryx that I paid for.

I just wanted to publically declare that I was an impatient arse in my other thread, and thank you folks for giving me the tips to set them up correctly.

One thing I noted: If I use the front brake alone with a firm pull, I get excellent power but get a slight "shutter" from the front end.....I assume this is bad, or maybe not normal. The pads are new, so I assume this might even out..?

Thanks!!
