The ride quality of race cars, with their stiff chassis and suspensions, is bone jarring, but the handling is superb. Same with bikes. A relaxed geometry frame with a long wheelbase will absorb more road-induced NVH than a stiff, upright one. It's the old vertically compliant - laterally stiff design criteria.
