I found eggbeaters to be sort of mushy. They seemed to open and close ever so slightly when applying force.

Plus, they don't provide a "wall" (for lack of a better term) of resistance when you are at the end of your float range. Basically you won't know you are at the end of the float range until you are disengaged. Speedplay Frogs were the same way. To me, what's the purpose of float if you don't know when you are at the end of the range or not.

Time ATACs or any road pedals didn't have either of the issues that I just mentioned.
