Whatever you do, remember this is not the dog's fault. Don't hurt the dog. Spraying with water would be OK, or really, try to give it a treat, or scare off with AirZound but nothing harmful, unless the dog actually attacks you. I would gladly use a can of spray paint on the owner's face though.
