You can document it the same way you can document the presence of invisible black helicopters swirling about overhead; you can "imagine" it,then believe it to be true.
Your belief tha such wrecks do not happen is as valid as my belief that they do happen. Neither of us can support our beliefs with any hard evidence. I'm going to leave it at that for now. But it is an interesting question, and I hope that somebody comes up with evidence pro or con some day.
