NOT marion jones NOR any of the baseball players, football players in the balco scandal tested positive... they couldn't have tested positive because Balco supplied them with a designer steroid that wasn't on the banned list... you can't find a drug you don't even know exits and are not testing for. it was a rival coach who managed to get a sample of the designer steriod and shipped it to WADA that allowed them to test for it... by that time though no one was using it anymore... there where a few test for the masking agent for it though... the runners who tested positive for the masking agent all claimed they had narcolepsy.. i guess the boys at Balco had everthing worked out, excused and all. the CEO of balco spilled the beans on the lot of them to get the prosecuters to take it easy on him... he said he showed marion jones how to shoot up right in his office.
Lances doctor up to this year was Mechele Ferrari (doctor dope) convicted this year of sporting fraud in italy for suppying and educating cyclist how to cheat the test... a specialist in beating the EPO test and in blood doping. Lance even vouched for Ferrari calling one of Ferrari's accusers, Simeone a liar (he has a defamation case associated with this now). Simione never implicated Lance or any other cyclist but Lance felt that it was important to call Simeoni a liar in an news paper interview. why would he do that? even before the case started it seemed pretty obvious that Ferrari... who publicly, years before his conviction, equated taking EPO to takeing a B vitamine was going to get convicted. why would Lance associate himself with someone like that in the first place. i don't think you would blame anyone from coming to the conclusion that Lance hired Ferrari to ensure he would never get caught and bizzarly came to his defence because Ferrari had so much dirt on him he couldn't just lay the man out to dry like that... he had to protect his interests and say... look man i tried... don't turn me in... wouldn't dought a dollars changed hands either.
