My rubber mat also does a good job absorbing vibration and noise. Its the tire that also gives off noise. It's a great workout if you push for at least an hour. Don't think you need more than that to maintain fitness if you push hard within that hour. I hear people staying on trainer for 2+ hours which is unnecessary. I agree with these guys.
