also i don't see that many threads about broken carbon bikes as you imply. but something to consider is this forum has 175,000 members. a lot of forum members are gear junkies, so a lot will ride carbon. nobody will make a thread saying "i rode my carbon bike today and nothing broke" but they will make one when it breaks. like umd says, BF is not an extension of reality.
