My first encounter with camping in a city park was Unity Oregon, I learned all about automatic sprinklers there.
FWIW, some of the other towns around there were nice too. Sumpter, Richland, and Halfway were all nice stops, but the only one of those we stayed over in was Halfway. They had a farmers market (I think it was on Sundays) in the middle of town where we bought fresh baked sticky buns.
