I was just rebuilding an old bike, the derailleur looked out of line, so I didn't put the chain on the bike yet. The mechanic only mentioned straightening the hanger, I assume that you just detach the rd and let it hang by the cable while straightening the hanger. Cable and housing are new. I did think that this was any more than a fifteen minute job.
