Never buy a new bike. Buy a used bike in good condition. There will be absolutely no difference, performance wise, compared to a new bike, but it'll be half the price or less. Just saw basically the same bike Garmin pros were riding last year, sell on ebay for $1,600, and that probably sold for around $4,000 at a shop, new. If you spent $1,600 on a new bike at a shop you'd get a 38lb huffy befit with reflectors on every square inch.
