The advantages of being young... I don't have to worry about that. I had some savings and spent a bit over half on a bike. I'd rather do that and have a nice bike and pay a small amount meaning it doesn't matter if it's been stolen, rather than buying a cheaper bike, have it stolen, buy a new one and end up with exactly the same amount of money left over and a worse bike.

Maybe I'm missing an essential bit of logic here. I guess how likely it is that the bike will be stolen also effects which option is better.

Kk, for me that cover comes with the bike insurance instead, but if you already got it I can see why bike insurance may not be as attractive.

I like being able to leave my bike locked up anywhere, knowing that even if it was stolen I could just go and buy another one.
