For all the grief that Americans give the metric system, we should recognize that only three countries still use the English system, and its namesake isn't one of them. Those three countries are: Cambodia, Liberia and the U.S.A. Now, I like people all the same, but I think as soon as Cambodia and Liberia work on getting enough food to eat, this is probably the next issue that they'll resolve.

I hadn't been aware that the definition of the metre was readjusted to consider only the speed of light. Good, logical definition. Using measurements from bodies in precise standards is ridiculous because bodies aren't standardized. Sure, my foot is almost exactly a foot long, but when coordinating international projects my travel schedule would be rather busy.
