"need" is a tricky word. Are they interference engines? If not I'd say they "need" one when the car dies on the side the road. I know lots of car guys who would make that decision in order to spend more money on plug wires
yes they are....just wait till your TB fails and your pistons make contact with the valves. I would rather replace the timing belt then have to pay for a new motor
